Fiona’s POV.
The hospital director nearly trips over himself as he rushes in behind Micah. He looks desperate to appease him, his eyes darting nervously between us. He clearly has no idea who Micah is to me.
"I'm terribly sorry for this situation sir," the director begins, his voice trembling slightly. "I assure you, the privacy at our hospital is impeccable. This is a highly unusual situation."
Emma, standing beside my father’s bed, smirks slightly, but she doesn't say anything. Her son hovers behind her, looking smug and self-satisfied.
Micah steps further into the room, his presence commanding.
"Unusual? You allow strangers to harass patients in their private rooms and yet you want me to invest in this hospital of yours?"
The director’s face pales, and he quickly tries to explain. Clearly, he must have met with Micah while I was upstairs and let him know his intentions.
"Mrs. Emma is not a stranger, sir. She is a relative of Mr. Richards. She’s here to visit and care for him, which is why she was allowed in."

The director seizes the opportunity to further ingratiate himself. "Yes, exactly. Mr. Richards, well... he has had some recent legal troubles. A financial crime, you see. His character has come into question, which sometimes leads to conflict with his well-wishers."
Micah’s eyes narrow as he listens, but the director barrels on, trying to paint my father and me in the worst light possible.
"Given these circ*mstances, it’s not surprising that tensions run high." Then, in a move that appalls me, he leans towards Micah in a voice that is supposed to be a whisper but is clearly not.
“Plus, as you heard Mrs. Emma earlier, his daughter … doesn’t have the best reputation. I think she has no qualms about selling her body. I think we can all agree, it’s better for the patient to have relatives with better standing near him…”

“Is that so?” He lightly scoffs at the director's words, but his murderous gaze is fixed on Emma.

The room falls silent at Micah's words. Emma and her son stare at him in shock, while the hospital director glances nervously at the nurse who handles my father’s medical bills and knows Micah paid for them. She nods miserably, confirming Micah's statement.

"I never thought such outrageous rumors would be running wild around here. I simply helped my wife pay for her father's surgery and you lot are accusing her of unspeakable things. Is that what this hospital is doing? Indulging in gossip, rather than caring for its patients?”
Emma’s shocked eyes are still glued to Micah’s arm around my waist. She opens her mouth to say something, but nothing comes out. Micah pins her with a vicious glare that has her swallowing hard.
In an effortless swipe, he snatches the contract away from her and scans it. A ruthless predatory gleam glitters in his eyes as he looks at its contents. Without a word, he crumples it and shoves it in his pocket instead of throwing it away.
Realizing how wrong things are going for them, the hospital director clears his throat, attempting to regain control of the situation.
